BelFlex is partnered with a manufacturing company in Newtown, OH. Looking to add a fulltime Project Design Engineer to their team. 

Salary : $80k-100K
8a-4p or 9a-5p

POSITION SUMMARY:

With a focus on new product development. Responsibility will include conceptual design, early product design (pre-manufacturing), product feasibility, product improvement, project cost, timeline, tasks, etc.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES:
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities for new products and technologies
  • Design and develop innovative products from concept to production.
  • Responsible for specifying components, hardware, defining bill of materials, and component cost.
  • Conduct complex engineering calculations and experiments to test, prove, or modify designs based on research findings.
  • Determine feasibility of viability of concepts, taking into account product marketability, regulatory compliance, etc.
  • Interact with Sales, Marketing, Purchasing, Quality, Operations, and vendors regarding engineering design questions or concerns.
  • Produce engineering documentation and drawings enabling release of components and assemblies.
  • Assist in diagnosing field issues and developing corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and compliance activities.
  • Develop solutions to improve product quality and reduce product cost.
 
  • Experience with project management and working with overseas team/vendors as well as local contract manufacturers.
  • Developing, initiating, and managing all phases of a project
  • Completes engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
  • Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related
  • Minimum of 3 to 10 years of experience in product development and design
  • Excellent analytical engineering design skills are a must
  • CAD knowledge (SolidWorks Preferred)
  • Strong background in the design of machinery, mechanisms, tools, or hand-held devices.
  • Project Management experience
