The latest information to help protect our communities
At BelFlex, the health and well-being of our clients, employees, colleagues and neighbors are paramount. We have a dedicated team closely monitoring Coronavirus (COVID-19) developments and we will be providing regular updates on this page. Below is some additional information that covers the policies and procedures we have put in place to help reduce the impact of the virus. This page will be updated as information changes or new recommendations emerge.
COVID-19 is the abbreviation for the specific strain of the novel (new) coronavirus disease 2019 (previously referred to as 2019 N-Cov), which is causing a spread of respiratory illness worldwide. In addressing this issue, we are following guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA). We are also monitoring the latest directives and guidance from regional and state authorities where we have branch offices.
We are committed to providing the highest level of service possible despite the challenges of COVID-19. As each team and branch is unique, business continuity plans will be created at the local level to ensure that operations continue with minimal interruption. These may include, but are not limited to, cross-training, child-care arrangements, remote work (equipment, productivity, effectiveness), coverage for absences, communication guidelines, etc.
General Health and Safety
Health and safety are always a top priority and as per our usual protocol, sick employees are asked to say home. We also encourage all employees to practice good hygiene and to wipe down any shared surfaces (keyboard, desks, iPads copiers, doors, etc.) before use and wash their hands thoroughly and often.
Employee Exposure Protocol
Any BelFlex employee who is concerned they may have contracted or been exposed to COVID-19 has been instructed to follow CDC guidelines. This includes contacting a healthcare professional and discussing recent travel, possible exposure or other reasons for concern. The CDC is working with each state’s public health department on COVID-19 testing parameters. Employees must also notify their manager and HR representative immediately that they may have contracted or been exposed to COVID-19 and that they have contacted their healthcare provider for further guidance.
Should a BelFlex internal or contract employee be diagnosed with or exposed to COVID-19, we will immediately inform all clients, internal employees and contract workers associated with the individual. If we learn from a client that one of its workers not employed by BelFlex has been diagnosed or exposed, we will immediately notify all of our internal employees and contract workers associated with the individual.
We are limiting business travel to essential meetings only and urging our employees to limit personal travel, both domestic and international, as much as possible.
We encourage all of our employees to travel with antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer and recommend they avoid activities where they may be exposed to large groups of people.
