Cincinnati, OH – September 24, 2018 – BelFlex Staffing Network (BelFlex), a staffing and flexible workforce solutions firm in the commercial sector, has partnered with United Way of Lee County, United Way of the Greater Triangle, United Way of Forsyth County and United Way of Greenville County to assist in providing Hurricane Florence disaster relief. Five local BelFlex offices (Clayton, Raleigh-Durham, Sanford and Winston Salem in North Carolina and Simpsonville/Greenville in South Carolina) will accept donations Monday, September 24 through Friday, September 28, 2018 during business hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. EST. Additionally, BelFlex will make a financial donation to United Way to help with their Hurricane Florence relief efforts.
“Recovery from Hurricane Florence will be a lengthy process but in the immediate aftermath our concerns are making sure that people in the hardest-hit areas have food, water and other basic necessities,” said Kendra K. Martin, Executive Director, United Way of Lee County. “United Way is proud to partner with BelFlex to collect and distribute these necessary relief supplies where they are needed most.”
Over 20 employees in the five BelFlex branches will receive, sort and label the donations and then personally deliver the items to coastal families most in need. Donations being accepted include:
- Canned food
- Baby formula
- Water
- Cleaning supplies
- Diapers (child & adult) and wipes
- Hygiene products/toiletries, including dental supplies
“Because our local offices were spared the brunt of the storm, we recognized the opportunity to fulfill BelFlex’s commitment to community service by rolling up our sleeves and helping our neighbors along the coast,” said Brenda Clegg, Business Development Manager, BelFlex. “Naturally we chose to partner with the United Way, a champion of helping communities around the world find solutions to virtually any challenge, including natural disasters.”
Clegg, who is coordinating efforts on behalf of BelFlex, also serves as board member of United Way of Lee County and was recently appointed to the Sanford Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. She can be contacted at (919) 437-0946 or BClegg@belflex.com with questions about donating items.
