Wilson Children’s Home Kids Enjoy a Holiday Shopping with BelFlex

For third year, BelFlex partnered with Adams County Children Services to spread holiday cheer

Cincinnati, OH – December 27, 2016 – BelFlex Staffing Network (BelFlex), a staffing and workforce solutions firm that provides temporary, temp-to-hire and full-time light industrial employees to businesses across the U.S., joined with Adams County Children Services for a special holiday program with Wilson’s Children’s Home. Now in its third year, the program took a different approach this year with BelFlex bringing the children to the Eastgate Mall for a shopping spree. Each child received a three hundred dollar budget to spend on gifts for themselves and others. BelFlex employees and caregivers from Wilson’s Children’s Home accompanied the children as they shopped.

“In the past, BelFlex would bring toys, clothing and gift cards to the home for the children. We would also have a nice lunch and decorate cookies together,” said Melissa Taylor, Wilson Children’s Home Superintendent. “However, it came to our attention that many of our children do not have the opportunity to shop at the mall regularly and pick out gifts themselves—especially with such a generous budget. This year, we were thrilled to collaborate with BelFlex to find a new way to bring holiday joy to the children and it was great to see their excitement on shopping day!”

The day started with a limousine bus picking up 15 children and their caregivers and bringing them to the mall where they met the BelFlex team for lunch. Afterwards, each BelFlex employee took two children store-to-store as they looked for presents. Clothing and electronics were the most sought after items for the children, who range in age from 12-17 years old.

BelFlex is committed to giving back and has partnered with multiple organizations in the communities in which it serves. By combining company resources with the energy of its employees, the BelFlex team has averaged over 3,000 volunteer hours annually and donated time and money to more than 125 organizations across 10 states.

“We are honored to partner with Adams County Children Services and Wilson Children’s Home again, both of which do so much for children who have been through extremely difficult circumstances,” said Robert Baer, Vice President at BelFlex. “We are also grateful to be a part of the children’s lives
and thoroughly enjoyed accompanying them as they did what kids all over the country are doing this holiday season—shopping!”

Adams County Children Services is a public children services agency based out of Wilson Children’s Home, in West Union, Ohio. It is the agency responsible, by law, for helping children who are at risk of being abused, neglected or dependent. Wilson Children’s Home is a children’s residential center for children ages 10-18 with residential care workers on-site to care for the children. The home was built in 1884 due to a very generous gift from John T. Wilson.
