Waterjet Machinist 

Position Overview:
The Waterjet Machinist operates and maintains CNC waterjet cutting machines to produce precision parts and components according to blueprints, CAD files, or customer specifications. This role requires attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, program, and operate CNC waterjet cutting machines to cut a variety of materials (metal, composites, plastics, stone, etc.).

  • Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and CAD files to determine job requirements.

  • Select proper cutting tools, nozzles, and abrasives for material and job specifications.

  • Monitor machine performance, make adjustments, and ensure accurate, high-quality cuts.

  • Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on waterjet machines.

  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to ensure they meet quality standards.

  • Maintain accurate production records, job logs, and inspection reports.

  • Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and engineers to troubleshoot and improve processes.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Previous experience as a waterjet operator or machinist preferred.

  • Ability to read technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.

  • Strong mechanical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).

  • Basic knowledge of CNC programming and machine controls.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  • Ability to lift materials and stand for extended periods.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
