Core Responsibilities
Emergency Response & Damage Assessment
Respond quickly to emergency calls involving water, fire, mold, or sewage damage. Assess the severity of the situation on-site and determine the best course of action to begin the restoration process.
Project Planning & Crew Management
Coordinate the daily operations of restoration projects, including scheduling, assigning tasks, and supervising technicians or subcontractors. Ensure work is completed efficiently, safely, and up to company standards.
Client & Team Communication
Serve as the central point of contact between clients, insurance adjusters, and internal teams. Provide regular updates, maintain detailed job documentation, and ensure all parties stay informed throughout the project lifecycle.
Estimating & Insurance Coordination
Develop detailed project estimates using restoration software such as Xactimate. Review the scope of work with clients and collaborate with insurance representatives to ensure accurate coverage and smooth claim processing.
Sales-Focused Job Execution
In many locations, the project professional also plays a sales role—presenting services to potential customers, addressing concerns, and closing jobs. Negotiation and customer service skills are key to success in this area.
Skills & Experience Needed

Restoration Knowledge: Experience in water damage mitigation, mold remediation, fire/smoke cleanup, and general reconstruction work.

Tech Savvy: Proficiency in estimating platforms like Xactimate is often required.

Team Leadership: Ability to lead crews, manage schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

Compensation & Work Environment
Pay Structure:
This is typically a full-time role offering a competitive base salary plus commissions and performance bonuses. Depending on the location and size of the branch, project professionals often earn between $70,000 and $90,000 annually.
