Location: Holly Springs, NC
Compensation: $35.00 – $38.00 per hour (Hourly, Full-Time)


Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Maintenance Technician to join our team in Holly Springs, NC. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated, self-driven individual with expert-level knowledge in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial equipment. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership qualities, and the ability to work independently while coordinating with corporate and outside support when needed.

This position reports directly to the Plant Manager and plays a critical role on the plant leadership team.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Follow all plant health and safety standards, including proper use of PPE.

  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on facility equipment, including but not limited to printing presses, balers, RTUs, air compressors, dryers, wrap machines, and other industrial machinery.

  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.

  • Conduct oil changes, lubrication, roller measurements, and related upkeep.

  • Enter and manage work orders through SAP and maintain an organized spare parts inventory.

  • Oversee the maintenance department, ensuring timely completion of repairs and preventative tasks.

  • Assist with the installation and startup of new equipment from beginning to end.

  • Maintain building and facility systems as needed (structural, plumbing, carpentry, electrical).

  • Provide ideas and solutions to improve safety, performance, and sustainability goals.

  • Maintain a neat, safe, and organized work environment.


Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be dependable, detail-oriented, and highly skilled in problem-solving.

  • Strong mechanical and pneumatic knowledge.

  • Expert-level electrical, electronic, and PLC (Allen Bradley) knowledge.

  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and building blueprints.

  • Familiarity with SAP or other computerized maintenance management systems strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as the sole maintenance technician on-site.

  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to coordinate with leadership and outside vendors.

  • Corrugated industry experience a plus (especially Ward Flexographic equipment).

  • Ability to provide own tools and toolbox.


Physical Demands

  • Lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Stand, walk, and work in tight areas and at heights when required.

  • Perform repetitive wrist and hand motions.

  • Climb ladders and step on/off equipment.


Work Environment

  • Manufacturing setting with loud machinery and forklift traffic (earplugs required).

  • Exposure to dust, dirt, and slippery conditions (goggles and steel-toe boots required).

  • Variable temperatures: cool in winter, hot in summer (no A/C).


Additional Requirements

  • Basic understanding of Food Packaging Safety, GMPs, and allergen control (training provided).

  • Ensure proper line clearance after maintenance on production lines.

  • Perform food safety air testing and use only approved lubricants and cleaners.

  • Maintain a clean work environment—no food, gum, or mints in production, shipping, or receiving areas.
