Apartment Community Cleaner (Day Shift)

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Pay: $15.00/hr
Location: Fuquay-Varina, NC


Position Summary

The Apartment Community Cleaner is responsible for ensuring luxury apartment units and common areas are clean, sanitized, and fully prepared for resident move-ins. This position focuses on top-to-bottom unit cleaning, maintaining appearance standards throughout the community, and supporting overall property presentation. The ideal candidate takes pride in detailed work, stays productive while working independently, and provides a clean, welcoming environment for future residents.


Key Responsibilities

Move-In Ready Unit Cleaning

  • Clean and sanitize apartment interiors from top to bottom, including kitchens, bathrooms, living rooms, and bedrooms.

  • Dust all surfaces, wipe down cabinets, clean appliances (inside and out), and remove any construction or turnover debris.

  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop all flooring; clean windows, baseboards, and fixtures.

  • Ensure units meet community quality and cleanliness standards before resident move-in.

Community & Common Area Cleaning

  • Clean hallways, stairwells, elevators, entryways, and other shared spaces.

  • Remove trash, wipe handrails, clean light fixtures, and maintain appearance of high-traffic areas.

  • Regularly inspect and spot-clean common areas throughout the day.

Stairwell & Grounds Support

  • Climb multiple flights of stairs regularly to service buildings and units.

  • Maintain cleanliness around building entrances, breezeways, and walk paths as needed.

Event & Spill Response

  • Respond promptly to spills, accidents, or immediate cleaning needs.

  • Support small community events or property functions with setup/breakdown cleaning if required.

Customer Service & Communication

  • Interact professionally with property staff, contractors, residents, and management.

  • Report maintenance issues, supply needs, or safety concerns to supervisors promptly.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all cleaning chemical protocols and PPE requirements.

  • Ensure safe use of equipment and report hazards immediately.


Qualifications

  • Previous cleaning, janitorial, housekeeping, or porter experience preferred.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay productive independently.

  • Ability to lift 25–50 lbs., climb stairs throughout the day, and perform repetitive motions.

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional at all times.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically active environment.


Work Environment

  • Active, on-your-feet role for the entire shift.

  • Frequent stair climbing required.

  • Work performed in luxury apartment units and community buildings.
