BelFlex Expands its Junior Mentoring Program to Five Additional Cities
Company promotes Ann Hollingsworth to Community Outreach Manager to lead and grow the program
Cincinnati, OH – November 1, 2016 – BelFlex Staffing Network (BelFlex), a staffing and workforce solutions firm that provides temporary, temp-to-hire and full-time light industrial employees to businesses across the U.S., announces it will expand the BelFlex Junior Mentoring Program (BJMP) into five more cities in 2017. The program, which was established to teach young adults professionalism in the workplace, has already graduated 52 high school students, helping them become more confident and employable. The program originated in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 2015 and was launched in Middletown, Ohio, earlier this year. Due to the success and impact of the program in these two cities, the company will add the following five cities in 2017:
- Chattanooga, Tennessee
- Cleveland, Tennessee
- Florence, Kentucky
- Louisville, Kentucky
- Sanford, North Carolina
Ann Hollingsworth, who was instrumental in the program’s success in Tuscaloosa and Middletown, has been promoted to Community Outreach Manager and will drive the expansion.
“The BelFlex Junior Mentoring Program is a shining example of our commitment to helping individuals, organizations, and communities succeed and Ann brings a lot of passion and energy to the program,” said Todd Cross, President of BelFlex. “These qualities are essential as we roll out the program to reach even more young adults with valuable mentorship and advice on how to navigate the difficult process of identifying and securing meaningful employment.”
In each designated market, BelFlex partners with a local high school and several area businesses to help prepare students to be confident, poised and ready for employment. During the seven-week program, a select group of 16 – 20 juniors and seniors will learn a range of skills including how to write a resume, hunt for a job and dress professionally. Additionally, each student has the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with business leaders and job shadow employees at an area company.
“I have seen firsthand the positive impact the BelFlex Junior Mentoring Program has on these young lives and feel tremendously fortunate to watch even more students benefit from this journey,” said Hollingsworth. “The support we have received from the high schools and local businesses has been a significant contributor to the program’s success.”
As Community Outreach Manager, Hollingsworth’s other responsibilities will include promoting volunteerism and community service throughout BelFlex and providing each office with the support and resources they need to make a difference in their communities.
BelFlex is encouraging local companies to participate in workforce development by mentoring and giving BJMP students an opportunity to interview with real professionals and receive constructive feedback. Any company interested in participating can contact Hollingsworth at BelFlex via email: ahollingsworth@belflex.com or by phone 205-535-0725.
