Structural Steel Detailer
Pay: $18-20 DOE
Shift 7am-3:30pm M-F
Location  Aberdeen, NC

Description
Will be responsible for creating detailed drawings and plans for the fabrication and installation of steel structures used in buildings, bridges, and other infrastructure projects. Involves translating architectural and engineering designs into precise, clear, and accurate drawings that our fabrication shop will use to produce steel components.
Job Details and Duties
  • $18-20 per hour depending on experience
  • Mon-Fri 7am-3:30pm
  • Create Detailed Drawings: Produce detailed shop drawings, including steel beams, columns, trusses, connections, and other components for fabrication and installation.
  • Coordinate with Engineers & Architects: Collaborate with structural engineers and architects to ensure the designs meet project specifications, codes, and safety standards.
  • Material Takeoffs: Prepare material lists and identify steel quantities and types required for fabrication.
  • Review Project Specifications: Interpret design documents, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accuracy.
  • Provide Technical Support: Address any technical queries or design adjustments during fabrication or installation.
  • Coordinate with Fabricators and Contractors: Ensure the detailing aligns with project timelines and coordinate with fabricators and contractors for seamless project execution.
  • Revise and Update Drawings: Modify/update drawings based on feedback and as the project progresses.

  Job Requirements
  • Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Tekla, or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of steel construction methods, fabrication processes, and industry standards (e.g., AISC).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • A degree or certification in structural engineering, drafting, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in the steel industry or structural detailing is a plus.
  • May be subject to background check
