Heavy Equipment Operator

Location: Clayton, NC
Shift: Overnight (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday – Thursday)
Pay Range: $18 – $24 per hour
Expected start date will not be until January 20th!
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join a dynamic team at a facility where heavy machinery is built and tested. The operator will be responsible for operating various types of CAT heavy equipment, including front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators, and more, in real-world testing environments. This is an excellent opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge equipment and contribute valuable feedback to the engineering team.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and test a variety of CAT heavy equipment (e.g., front-end loaders, skid steers, excavators).
- Provide detailed feedback on machine performance, identifying any issues or concerns during operation.
- Collaborate with engineers by sharing notes and observations to help improve the design and functionality of the equipment.
- Perform pre-operation checks, including fueling and oil level inspections, to ensure equipment is in good working condition.
- Maintain a keen attention to detail to identify any potential problems before and during use.
- Ensure equipment is operated safely and efficiently in all conditions.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
- Experience with a variety of heavy equipment such as front-end loaders, skid steers, and excavators.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to identify potential issues in the machinery.
- Ability to work independently and follow safety protocols at all times.
- Must be available for overnight shifts (6:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Monday – Thursday).
- Ability to work in outdoor conditions and in varying environments.
