TIG Welding
General Function:
- Ability to understand welding symbols and diagrams, read blueprints, calculate dimensions, and inspect materials.
- Ability to read drawings, calipers, tape measures and angle gauges.
- Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form.
- Ability to use weld fillet gauges to ensure proper weld size and interpret tolerances.
- MIG and TIG weld steel, aluminum and Stainless steel components bases on the specifications of the blueprints and/or drawings.
- Ability to set up, lay out work using jigs/fixtures or hand layouts to fabricate parts and/or rework finished parts.
- Knowledge of welding equipment such as torches, torch tips, filler, rod, flux, hoses, valves, and gas cylinders.
- Monitor welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of material.
- Maintain adequate supply of materials, equipment and tools required to fulfill work assignments.
- Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications.
- Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards.
- Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
- Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency.
- Ensures proper deburring: chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
