Temp to hire Program Specialist

 The basic responsibilities of these positions involve:  recruiting, screening for eligibility, and conducting intake services for individuals and families in need of home energy conservation, repair or replacement to home heating and cooling equipment, and emergency shelter repairs by preforming these tasks:
  • Assist  in recruiting eligible individuals and families.

     Schedules appointments, screens for eligibility, assigning priorities as indicated in the current year grant and SOP. Notifies applicant(s) of the reason for denial if ineligible for services. Maintains roster of screened applicants, including those denied, and the priority lists. Follows up on mailed applications if no appointment has been made.

  • Identifies other needs of individuals and families and makes appropriate referrals to other Action Pathways, Inc. services and externally within the community to resolve the applicant’s problem. Maintains activity log of services, referrals and follow up.
  • Responsible for compiling and maintaining pertinent documents, developing complete, accurate and confidential records. Ensures files contain appropriate signatures.

Must have EXCELLENT customer service skills and an Associate’s degree in Office Management, Social Work, or related field.

Six months experience working with the public. 

Proficient with Word and Excel
Must be fully Covid vaccinated
Employee must have a valid driver’s license and own transportation.

Employee must be able to communicate and work with a wide variety of people from all socio- economic levels.
Ability to speak colloquial level Spanish as a second language is preferred.
