Role: Responsible for the Plant/fabrication shop operation and direct supervision of plant employees. Duties include overseeing routine production activities, troubleshooting and solving issues that arise on a production floor and ensuring a safe and clean production workspace.

Responsibilities:
This is a working supervisory position. The position is responsible for fabrication, quality, on-time shipping/delivery and installation of all products, working with and directing the activities and priorities of plant personnel.
- Plans project coordination, scheduling progress, and times on machines to maximize production efficiency
- Supervision and direction of hourly and temporary plant personnel
- Interviewing, input on hiring, training and development on equipment, disciplining, rewarding, performance measurement of plant personnel, and termination recommendations
- Ensures adherence to company policies in the Plant
- Fabrication of all products
- Pre-fabrication planning
- Accountability for planned vs. actual variance in labor times (ERP system)
- Execution of Quality Assurance Plan, verifying quality of completed products against drawing specifications, meeting goal within 2 standard deviations, as outlined in company quality policy.
- Onsite installation team leadership responsibility
- Oversees and coordinates preventive maintenance of all machinery
- Oversees cleanliness and usability of the work environment
- Ensures adherence to Plant Safety Policy by plant
- Is an ambassador of safety. Protects self and others from hazards. Proactively reduces risk of injury. employees
- Understands and maintains all OSHA related guidelines for Plant operations
- Communication and coordination with external customer contacts such at Job Forman
- Attends external meetings as representative is required
- Other duties as required
Required knowledge, skills and abilities:
- Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Prior hands-on experience in cabinetmaking, residential /commercial construction and/or display manufacturing
- Experience with one or more the following equipment: CNC computer-controlled equipment, assorted hand tools (including electrical or battery operated)
- Ability to review, understand, interpret and provide engineering input on manufacturability of product based on drawings and material sheets
- Excellent leadership skills
- Professional business acumen
- Excellent communication and math skills
Physical Requirements:
- Standing 100% of time
- Regularly walks to different areas in large warehouse, fabrication environment
- Manual dexterity and use of hands to guide material, use tools and feel edges of work to determine finish or completeness of part and fine work finishes
- Regularly lifts or moves materials to and from the work area. Must have ability to lift up to 100lbs with assistance from another team member or with use of equipment
- Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Educational requirements:
High School Diploma. Some College Preferred.
