Job Title: Dry Film/Paint Spraying Technician II – Direct Hire

Location: Indianapolis, IN

Overview: BelFlex Staffing is seeking a skilled Dry Film/Paint Spraying Technician II for a direct hire position in Indianapolis, IN. This role requires advanced spraying techniques, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Read and comprehend specific work instructions.
  • Perform advanced spraying techniques proficiently.
  • Handle materials, including chemicals, safely throughout the process.
  • Conduct various mixing techniques, test viscosity levels, and understand concentration effects.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the work area proactively.
  • Properly maintain, set up, use, and clean required equipment.
  • Understand various cleaning and pretreatment processes and their effects on customer parts.
  • Use ovens and other drying techniques, including curing temperatures and procedures.
  • Conduct visual in-process inspections and required testing (adhesion, solvent, film thickness, etc.), and troubleshoot performance problems.
  • Understand VOC limitation requirements and maintain VOC usage records.
  • Monitor visible emissions from paint booths.
  • Perform administrative tasks associated with the process, including record maintenance.
  • Sign off on Level I Dry Film/Paint Spraying Technician tasks and assist in training.
  • Lift 10-30 lbs. repetitively without assistance and remain stationary for the duration of the shift.
  • Wear various types of respirators as required, including training, fit testing, and medical evaluations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Basic math skills to count quantities.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing responsibilities and priorities.
  • Ability to troubleshoot painting-related problems (coating viscosity, humidity, dry spray, orange peel, fisheyes, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Above-average masking skills for various sized parts and materials.

Physical Requirements:

  • Remain stationary 50% of the time.
  • Frequently move parts/equipment weighing 10-30 lbs. across the work area.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts.

Vision Requirements:

  • Annual Color Vision and Near-Vision Eye Examinations per IFT vision requirements.
  • Must meet minimum standards in one eye with or without glasses/contacts.
