Qualifications
-Proven experience as an HVAC estimator or similar role in the construction industry
-Strong understanding of HVAC systems, components, and installation practices
-Proficiency in estimation software such as CAD or similar tools
-Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
-Attention to detail and accuracy
-Effective communication and negotiation skills
-Ability to work independently and as part of a team
-Familiarity with relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards
Responsibilities
-Project Evaluation: Evaluate project plans, specifications, and other documents to understand the scope of work and requirements for HVAC systems
-Cost Estimation: Utilize software tools and industry knowledge to accurately estimate the cost of HVAC materials, equipment, labor, and other resources required for a project
-Proposal Preparation: Prepare detailed and competitive bids and proposals for HVAC projects, including cost breakdowns, timelines, and any special considerations
-Vendor and Supplier Coordination: Coordinate with HVAC equipment suppliers and vendors to obtain pricing, lead times, and other necessary information for accurate cost estimation
-Subcontractor Management: Work with subcontractors to obtain quotes for specialized HVAC services such as installation, ductwork fabrication, and maintenance
-Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for value engineering to optimize HVAC systems' performance while minimizing costs, ensuring projects meet budgetary constraints without sacrificing quality
-Cost Analysis: Analyze and compare actual project costs against estimated costs to identify discrepancies and areas for improvement in future estimates
-Client Communications: Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify requirements, address concerns, and ensure alignment throughout the estimation process
-Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to HVAC systems to ensure compliance and avoid costly errors
-Continuous Learning: Stay updated on advancements in HVAC technology, materials, and methods to improve estimation accuracy and stay competitive in the industry
