Position Summary
This position provides mechanical, servicing and tire repairs to truck and trailers to meet or exceed all DOT and Company safety rules and regulations. Responsibilities include, taking direction from Senior Diesel Mechanic on repairs
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Making sure vehicles are maintained and safe for our drivers
- Using tools and technologies to log, research, and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
- Perform preventative maintenance repairs; repairing/replacing tires; completing vehicle component lubrication and replacement, some electrical system repairs, and cooling system maintenance on diesel engine vehicles in our Fleet.
- Working on other projects and tasks as assigned by your supervisor
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 1 year experience in truck, trailer diesel repair and maintenance preferred.
- Experience in truck and trailer tire repairs, mounting and dismounting
- High school diploma/GED equivalent
- Vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
- The ability to solve problems and comfortable using tools.
- Excellent customer service skills and communication skills.
- The ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Basic computer skills.
