Responsibilities:
- Safely operate a semi-truck in compliance with state and federal transportation laws.
- Transport loads efficiently and securely along the designated route, adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Skillfully maneuver the truck and trailer during loading and unloading, following signals from the loading crew.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and deliver documentation upon completion of the delivery route.
- Ensure routine service and maintenance of trucks, promptly reporting any malfunctions to the Manager.
- Arrange trailers strategically in shipping yards for optimal loading patterns.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills to communicate professionally with customers and staff at delivery points.
- Ability to remain focused and composed in a busy environment.
Education and Experience:
- Must possess the required commercial driver’s license suitable for the vehicle’s weight.
- Successful completion of background and drug testing as required by federal and/or state department(s) of transportation regulations.
Physical Requirements:
- Extended periods of sitting in a trailer cab during long-haul trips.
- Capability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
