This position is a member of the Carrier Services department and reports to the Operations Manager.
Position Description (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):
- Process Broker requests to unlock and verify existing carriers in a timely manner
- Display working knowledge of carrier setup and verification procedures
- Review TMS and identity information that needs to be updated or verified
- Work with Carriers’ insurance provider to verify coverage requirements are met
- Review proper external carrier verification websites for any information relevant to processes, Safer Watch, Carrier 411 and Internet Truckstop among them
- Identify and communicate with management and broker when criteria are not met such as such as active DOT authority, minimum insurance requirements, and ability to verify carrier identity
- Provide feedback to management regarding ways to improve process
- Assist managing a database of over 45,000 carriers
- Handle additional duties as needed
Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Basic (Required)
- High school degree or GED
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Some data entry and customer service experience
- Work well in fast paced team settings
- Ability to work on multiple tasks in a time sensitive environment
- Comply with company procedures and escalate issues as needed
Preferred
- Transportation or logistics related work experience
- Knowledge of commercial insurance
- Familiarity with a transportation management software
