BelFlex is working with a large local animal shelter that is looking for a full-time shelter attendant. Work involves ensuring the animal shelter is maintained in a clean and safe condition, feeding, handling, and providing custodial care to animals in the shelter and assisting the general public in claiming and adopting animals.
Employees ensure:
~animal confinement areas are cleaned and maintained in a sanitary manner
~feed and water confined animals
~make routine inspections of animals and their cages to monitor health, safety, and cleanliness of cages
~answer telephone and greet visitors ~receiveinquiriesandprovideinformationorreferinquiriestoappropriate·personnel ~assist interested parties in claiming or adopting confined animals, prepare and maintain records
~assist in public adoption and rabies notification events ~file and retrieve material as requested or as otherwise necessary
~maintain a daily medication administration log with time checks and dosage levels
~take photographs of all incoming animals
Education and Experience: Graduation from high school with one year of direct work experience in an animal control or veterinary work environment; or any equivalent combination of education and experience. Hours are 8:30a-5:30p with 2 days per week scheduled off. (Will rotate weekends)
