GENERAL DUTIES:
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently to achieve production goals that satisfy the customer.
- Attend Daily Shift Meetings.
- Understand and follow standardized work at all positions assigned.
- Stay informed of quality issues and opportunities as it relates to position and/or department.
- Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management.
All Shifts Require Mandatory Overtime and the ability to work up to 7 days a week.
- Produce quality parts to standards.
- Become part of an autonomous GAP that employs FES principles to achieve Production Goals that satisfy the customer.
- Always work to achieve targets: 100% production efficiency.
- 0 rejects, 0% scrap, 0% rework, 0 downtime.
- Stay informed of quality issues and opportunities as it relates to position and/or department.
- Participate in Hoshin and Continuous Improvement Events as assigned. Submit and implement Continuous Improvement Ideas according to Plant Target.
- Work all Shifts assigned.
- Complete all other duties and tasks as assigned by management
- Understand and follow standardized work at all positions assigned.
- Know the location of the customers.
- Function in the assembly production area and meet all targets.
- Insert parts in machine, ensure proper location, activate machine, which automatically marries parts into the sub-assembly or assembly.
- Ensure automatic ejection or removal of parts by hand.
- Perform changeovers in complete and proper manner.
- Direct/train new assemblers in carrying out their duties as required per standardized work, as well as EE/FES principles.
- Perform rework operations as required.
- Communicate all necessary adjustments on equipment and running test pieces, unless qualified to fix, and assure that all required specifications are being met prior to continuous production run.
- Follow self-inspection criteria to ensure that quality parts are being produced.
- Maintain a visual check of parts produced to note obvious defects, ensure quality criteria are met.
- Check parts produced with appropriate gauges.
- Adjust during production run, when required.
- Ensure all safety devices are properly adjusted, in place, and all procedures are followed.
- In in doubt about proper functioning of equipment, inform GAP Leaders/or Supervisor/or Maintenance
- Follow all safety procedures
- Follow proper dress code regulations
- Maintain good 5S standards throughout the plant
- Use the proper line of communication to solve issues. (GAP Leader – Supervisor – UAP Manager)
- Earn and maintain appropriate polyvalence. The absolute minimum requirement is to be trained at 2 workstations to a level 3. Additional polyvalence requirements can be assigned by the supervisor as needed by the GAP, up to and including 100% polyvalence.
- Work Overtime as mandatory shift obligation.
- Be courteous and respectful to all employees including new hires and temporaries.
- Understand and participate in KANBAN system as it relates to a Production Associate.
